PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION: Jerry Jenkins coauthored the popular Left Behind series with Tim LaHay in suc a way that I could not wait to get the next book in the series and read them all the way through. Prior to the Left Behind series, Jerry Jenkins was a mystery writer whose first novels consisted of a thirteen-book series titled The Margo Mysteries. More than twenty years ago he wrote an international spy thriller mystery called The Operative.
    The Last Operative is a complete rewrite of that original novel taking into account 9/11, the great advances in electronics, and other major world wide events--thus making this an up-to-date mystery. The only disappointment I had was when other things interfered with my reading and forced a postponement of my enjoyment of delving into this intriguing work.
